Born in Tbilisi, Georgia on October 4, 1962. He now lives in Yerevan.

From 1983 - a participant of republican exhibitions.
When the theme of a future artwork comes all of a sudden, by intuition, the artist becomes just a hand, an instrument, which surrendering his inner voice , realizes the conception.
"The Last Supper" belongs to the eternal themes in the art. The main thing here is neither to repeat , nor to become similar to anybody else . The new interpretation of the well-known subject, original symbolism, color, saturated with light, help to avoid the impression of "deja vu" and to realize, that there are no old and new themes, there is only a master, the art of which is basically individual and bears a rare in nowadays mysterious handcraft quality. Aramais Mkhitarian is one of most unique Armenian painters.
In 1983 took part in the exhibitions in Tbilisi, Yerevan, Las Vegas.
In 1992 he has won Vardan Adjemian Award for theatrical design. His works are been used in the film "Symphony of Silence" directed by V.Chaldranian (Yerevan).
Since 2003 member of  UNESCO.

Mais' painting career began when he was two, with a pilfered bottle of red nail polish intended for his sister. Red remains a favorite color, and one which he associates with the feminine. Mostly self-taught, he was encouraged by his family to pursue his calling. Mais believes that the world needs to save beauty and that painting is a creative force toward this end. His delightful paintings reflect this, as well as his belief that every artist who's ever painted has influenced his work.

Solitude and isolation from the outer world - are the basic themes of Mais Mkhitaryan's portraits. The mysterious texture of his artworks carries a supply of energy, a special spirituality. One can feel an experience of the past ages in Mais's, canvases, which is reflected either in the atmosphere, or in the visual resemblance with the works of professional artists, of the past. But the painter doesn't display direct analogies with the great masters, he just makes use of their advices, interpreting them in the light of his own world outlook. The creation of Mais, a self-tought artist, possesses a good handcraft quality, becoming a deficiency nowadays.
